Its time to party at the pool. With the dog days of summer winding down, the dogs are ready to go swimming! Two area pools are going to open up & let the dogs in.
In Derby, Rock River Rapids is having a "POOCH POOL PARTY"
DATE: Saturday, August 20, 2011
TIME: 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.
FEE: $5 per dog (2 dogs per owner)
Rock River Rapids ends the season with a doggie splash! The Pooch Pool Party takes place after the humans have used the pool for the last time this swim season. Chemicals in the water are adjusted "for a different breed of swimmers". For HUMAN safety, only guests 16 years and older can get in the water and only up to their thighs. We will NOT allow any children in the water. No aggressive dog or females in heat will be allowed for the safety of other guests. All dogs must have current vaccinations including rabies. Owner must be in control of their pet(s) at all times, two pets per guest. Door Prizes will be given out throughout the event as well as prizes for biggest dog, smallest dog, best dressed dog and more!

In Wichita, College Hill Pool is having "Dog Days of Summer"
Date: Monday, August 15, 2011
Time: 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Fee:$10 per dog (2 dogs per owner)
College Hill Pool, located at 304 S. Circle Drive, is inviting all dogs to try wading, paddling, swimming, or diving during their Dogs Days of Summer event from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011. The event allows dogs to experience the joy of swimming in a pool without chlorine.
Admission is a minimum donation of $10 per dog (limit of two dogs per owner). A large portion of the proceeds benefits the Kansas Humane Society.
Owners can wade only knee-deep with their dogs in the shallow end of the zero-depth entry family swimming pool or let the dogs jump by themselves into the deep end. Dogs at the Dogs Days of Summer will receive dog treats. Dogs can also compete in the long jump contest, Frisbee catch or largest and smallest dog contests.
