Yesterday Hampton & I where at church practicing on our normal obedience training with out his lead (leash) hook to my chair. We where in the multipurpose room (gym size) with the doors closed, so I didn't have to worry about him running off. Remember we have only been together since March, I'm in a power wheelchair & I can't move my fingers, so everything is done by voice commands. Hampton never left my side during all our training, I even practiced having Hampton stay at one end & I would go to the other end about 25 yds. Each time right back to me, no problem. That was in a controlled area, that evening Hampton & I went to the girls soccer game which is about 1 mile away. No problem getting there or at the game, except the usual can I pet him & sorry not now deal, but on the way home his leash fell off about half way home. I thinking holy crap I'm in trouble, I quickly had him sit while I looked ahead for which way would be best to go home & help. I decided to take the side streets home & I'm happy to say Hampton heeled the whole way home, I had too remind him to heal/easy he wanted to go just a little faster then me, other than that he aced it. I'm glad we have been able to have access to an area big enough too work on his skills. I just wasn't ready for a real world test yet, but Hampton was!
